Fall 2004: Barn in Annapolis, Maryland

This barn frame was completed in 1 1/2 days by our team. This sturdy design consisted of 10x14" Douglas Fir timbers for an expansive 28'x50' barn that is completely open on the first deck with no center posts.

The owner will finish on his own with material supplied by Stonington Post & Beam Homes: 2x6" tongue & groove Douglas Fir decking on the 2nd floor, 1x8" Douglas Fir roof planking, and 1x8" Western Red Cedar vertical tongue & groove siding, followed by Andersen windows.

Check here later to see the owners progress!

Summer 2004: Cape in North Stonington, CT.

Earlier in the year, we have completed a Douglas Fir frame Cape-style home in North Stonington, CT. Note the hammer truss design work in the February pictures.

This is a hybrid design consisting of a timber frame main structure with stress skin panels on the timber frame portion, and structural panels for the living space over the garage portion. This home has a Telveke center fire place with a climate-controlled green house complete with an integrated watering system! There is a radiant heating system in both the basement and living space.
