Don Barber Hi Don! Well, here we are. It's July 2, 1999 and we've been
in for almost a week now. It took a little longer than expected but it
has been well worth the wait. We woke up our first morning in the house,
our twelfth wedding anniversary, looked around and thought, "Wow!
This is cool!" It was about a year and a half ago that we went to an
open house at your place in North Stonington. We had been looking on and
off at houses for about 8 months but nothing seemed right, and in order
for us to make a move, we needed to walk into a place and say, "This
is it, this [is] what we want." So we went to your home, not quite
knowing what to expect, but as soon as we walked through the door we realized
that was what we wanted to build. The house has really turned out to be everything we
expected, both inside and out. It has a truly classic look about it and
fits the lot beautifully. Every time we come down the driveway there is
a feeling of tremendous pride knowing this is our home. The inside is
open, warm, and very functional. The timber framing is elegant in its
apparent simplicity and the house has such a solid feel to it. We have
received nothing but compliments from friends and neighbors who say they
love the style, the openness, and the rustic feel. The framing, the floors,
the masonry, the tile, everything - works beautifully together. Throughout the entire process, from the first set of
drawings on, you were genuinely enthusiastic about the project, very willing
to work with us and listen to us, and you were honest and very fair with
us. Everybody knows an undertaking of this nature is not going to be without
its moments of angst. But any issues that did arise were addressed and
resolved to our satisfaction and the bottom line is you have a happy customer!
Also, your guys and your subs were always helpful and courteous to us
(I don't know what they said about us after we left but they were always
nice to our faces, which is all that mattered!). In all seriousness, while building a house is both emotional
and stressful it is also supposed to be fun and exciting, and it was.
As corny as it may sound you are in the business of building dreams, and
we are very happy where we are starting a new chapter in our lives. Our
thanks to everyone involved for a job well done. Our Best Regards, PS. Kea loves it here as well. She's a very happy dog! |
