Dear Don:

Joan and I are almost ready to celebrate our first Christmas in our new home. We're finally finished (almost). I guess new home owners are never really finished. However, we couldn't be more pleased with how the house has turned out.

I'm writing this to thank you for Stonington Post and Beam's major part of our house project. From design to completion without your help and assistance it would have never gotten done. I don't know whether or not I told you this, but you were the only post and beam company that was willing to take on the project and design our great room as a post and beam room. Because of the roof design no other company would do it, particularly using Douglas fir. They weren't willing to do the design work necessary to integrate the gables as you did. I hope you saved the model you created, it was a great way to explain the design to us and show us it could be done. The results are outstanding. I don't think the web pictures do it justice. If you ever want to bring prospective customers here for a look, feel free to do so.

During the project we really appreciated your willingness to work with us on changes, delays and other issues. The complicated framing of a 5 gable roof required much discussion. Your crew had to improvise from my architects print that wasn't detailed enough to define the job. Wes, Mark, Scotty and Casey are very creative and excellent carpenters. They were a great deal of fun to work with, especially for a nervous home owner acting as his own general contractor.

Thanks to Mark and Scotty, the deck and interior trim work is now complete, and the results are just as good as the post and beam work. We've received many compliments on the interior. Many visitors stand in the great room and study the roof for a while. Lots of wow's and gawks.

Please tel l the crew that now that we're in here and can enjoy living here that the party I promised is coming soon. I'd like them all to see the final results and thank them for their work.
